Forum Closure

Hi all,

Due to decreasing interest and increased competition from the likes of Facebook, we have decided to close the forum.

As you may know, Chase Trails originally made use of the forum at – however, unfortunately that ceased to exist a year or two back. We attempted to relaunch a forum ourselves, but while it gained a bit of interest, the fact is, in this day and age, it’s very much a losing battle. The majority of discussion has moved over to Facebook, and while some of the bigger established forums – such as Singletrack, mbr, mtbr, etc – are doing well, launching a forum and getting the traffic in this day and age is easier said than done. Ultimately, we’ve decided that the time required to run the forum wasn’t worth it, especially when you take into account the lack of interest, and the time we put into updating our other channels – including the website and social media.

It’s understandable that some of you won’t like to see the forum disappear, especially if you use it for information on the trails, however, please be assured that we still have plenty of ways for you to follow any updates. You can:

  • Keep an eye on trail updates on the homepage (in the sidebar) – this is usually the best place to gain info on any closures or maintenance work.
  • Follow any updates on Facebook – even if you don’t have or want a Facebook account, you can still visit our page and freely browse all our posts, photos, and comments as a guest. In fact, the only thing you can’t do as a guest is “like” or comment on content.
  • Follow us on Twitter – again, you don’t need an account, but Twitter is quick and easy to sign up to, and you don’t need to say anything to use it – just sign up, follow us, and you’ll always get updates – even via text message, if you desire.
  • Follow the blog – major updates and news is usually posted to the blog, and you can visit it directly or follow it with the RSS feed.

Thank you,

– Chase Trails
